A cinematic alphabet of absurd word hybrids, brought to life through play, texture, and voice.

Developed at ROBO LAB, this animation project explores a playful alphabet concept inspired by children’s love of invented words. Four main characters emerge as whimsical hybrids, each constructed from three words starting with one of the Cyrillic letters К, И, Н, and О - taken from the Bulgarian word for “cinema.”

The visual language combines simple polygonal forms with paper-like textures, created in Substance 3D Painter to evoke a tactile, school-inspired papier-mâché aesthetic.

A key part of the process was collaborating with two young voice actors, whose spontaneous, often tongue-twisting interpretations added humor and authenticity. Their input directly influenced the rhythm, pacing, and expressiveness of the motion design.

My role included creative concept development, art direction, graphic design, and motion design.
